a go-go salon

Although the ADF Building renovation (designed by BLOK) began as a speculative project, it was 100% leased prior to completion.  A go•go Salon was one of the businesses that took space during the shell construction.  Sasha worked to create five styling stations in a long, narrow space with a window only at one end.  By mounting a ribbon of mirror along the wall Sasha bounces light deep into the salon.  The shampoo area is differentiated by changes in the floor and ceiling rather than walls, so light is shared instead of interrupted.  And the reception area at the end opposite the window features a reed resin panel, bamboo floors, and wood shelves lined with bark to reinforce the use of natural products and processes favored by the salon.
