contemporary addition

A home in Hillsborough, NC, is owned by a couple well-versed in renovation; they have overseen construction of an in-laws’ cabin and an art studio on the same secluded property (each designed by a different architect).  After seeing BLOK’s ADF Building take shape, they hired Sasha to renovate the main house in the same spirit as ADF.  Inspired by their desire for something unconventional, Sasha designed an addition that permitted a significantly enlarged kitchen, an upstairs retreat, and a mudroom dedicated to equestrian activities (riding boot and saddle storage as well as a blanket laundry).  When completed, Sasha succeeded in transforming the entire house by only altering 25% of it.
